This is the filming location of a scene from Margaret's Museum. In the movie, this grand house is portrayed as the home of the mine manager.

Multiple scenes were shot in North Sydney, with most scenes being shot on King street, where a house was used to portray a mine manager's house. Margaret's Museum won 6 Genie Awards in 1996!

Win, Again! is a 1999 Canadian television film starring Gordon Pinsent. The movie aired on CBC, and featured the town of North Sydney posing as a small town in Newfoundland. The film's final shot displays North Sydney from a beautiful overhead view. Win, Again! won a Gemini Award in 1999 for Best Writing in a Dramatic Program or Miniseries.
